[attr="class","itsa"]THE BASICS
Full Name | Olive Florence Dunwall
Nicknames | Gran
Age | 75
Birth Date | May 7th
Job | Owner of Gran's Diner
Gender | Female
Pronouns | She/her
Sexuality | Heterosexual

Secret | I have cancer.
THE APPEARANCE
Face Claim | Blythe Danner
Height&Weight | 5'7", ~120lb
Identifying Features | Ear piercings, reading glasses
Overall | Despite being thinner and more fragile of boned than any other time in her life, Olive feels like she's in her prime. She takes care of herself very well, which shows in the way she looks at her age, even if her hair has long turned gray and there are wrinkles from her ever-present smiles. Her grandchildren keep her from dressing like a total grandmother, which is surely appreciated by, well, everyone.
THE PERSONALITY
Likes | Good home cooking, her family, doves, chrysanthemum, painting (though she's horrible at it), walks in the cool fall air
Dislikes | Thunderstorms, sore bones, being immobile, bees (allergic), ham, facebook
Overall | Olive is, and always has been, an energetic person. She doesn't like to stay still and always has to be doing something, hence her involvement in her restaurant despite having earned a solid retirement not only before the restaurant, but from it. She very much tries to keep up with her grandchildren, and most of the time does manage, as they do all their various hobbies around town. She's always been very involved in all their lives, as her grandparents didn't really want to be involved with her, and she's enjoying the time she has left with them. Since her retirement she's taken up many new hobbies as a result of her overabundance of free time (even with the diner), and it's a common town joke to wonder what new thing Gran's going to try this week.
She's also always been known for her generosity. She always donated and participated in causes she believed in, and has always tried to help those she could. It's the main reason for her hiring decisions, after all. But she's frequently trying to organize various events to help the lower income families of Wildwood Crest, and if she'd have time she would volunteer her time wherever she could.
THE FAMILY
Father | Michael Scott Wallace
Mother | Lisa Marie Wallace (nee Louis)
Siblings | Michael Scott Wallace Jr (deceased, heart attack)
Other Family | Two daughters, a son, and various grandchildren
Hometown | Wildwood Crest
Overall | Olive was born to a young couple in 1940, Olive was alive for but doesn't remember the tail end of the Great Depression and the whole of World War II. Her father was never drafted, nor did he think it wise to volunteer with his wife sickly from her first pregnancy and having a very loud newborn. Otherwise, things were an ease in the Wallace household. It was about five years later that her brother was born, and it was after that her mother declared no more children, because her body wouldn't be able to handle it anymore. Not that her father had much objection, for the two children were more than enough. Both were handfuls.
She went to school and did well, even if she didn't do well with the sitting still part. Afterwards she went into the workforce and a few years later, also young, got married. Being completely honest, she doesn't distinctly remember a lot of the history she lived. Her focus was with her family, and looking back it all seems a blur. She could maybe get through some questions, but it wouldn't be anything overly enlightening.
As for her family. She had her daughters and her son. She raised them, working part time just to earn the family a little more spending money and to keep herself busy while the kids were in school. She cried when each of her children moved away, and cried at all their weddings, and cried when her first grandchild was born. She and her husband had good times and bad, and retired at the same time. Their retirement lasted about a year before they bought and started Gran's Diner. At first she was the primary cook, supplying her good home cooking, her husband managing it, and employing high school students. That became a tradition, only employing those with little to no work experience, getting them on their feet. When her husband died the diner got shut down for a year, in Olive's grief. And a year later she reopened it, still with the same principles, and still with the same food. She just started to get a little more help with managing and running it.
A year ago she was diagnosed with cancer. Ovarian, but by the time they caught it had spread. She was told she wouldn't have long, and what time she's had is more than what most estimated. She's living what's been considered borrowed time, and she hasn't had the heart to be able to tell her family.
